About the role

Our SA/NT region is looking to appoint a Technical Director, primarily based in the Adelaide office. You will lead and promote technical quality, capability, and innovation across all pursuits and projects. You will work closely with the General Manager to ensure CMW systems are applied and risks are managed to achieve maintain strong market reputation and deliver consistent technical outcomes.

You will be a member of CMWs Technical Board and work closely with other regional Technical Directors to set the technical strategy for the business and mentor and train staff.

This is an exciting new role in CMW that will shape our future and contribute to our commitment towards technical excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical leader for the region, promoting technical excellence, consistency, and mentoring across offices.
  • Partner with the General Manager and Business Development Manager to identify and pursue technically strategic opportunities; provide technical input on differentiators, risks, and pursuit strategy.
  • Represent and champion CMWs technical capability externally through presentations, conferences, and client engagement, acting as a key technical contact in the region.
  • Champion technical innovation on projects; identify and promote new methods, tools, and technology that improve safety, efficiency, or quality.
  • Assist the General Manager with succession planning, promotions and technical mentoring, guidance and progression of team members.

What You'll Need

  • Currently or previously acted in a technical leader role
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical quality, business development, and staff growth concurrently.
  • Proven track record on projects, risk management, and technical oversight.
  • Strong written/oral communication, mentoring, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience building and maintaining a technical culture that supports innovation and quality.
